| Sum value (budget) in grouped view

Hi community, as you can see in the image, I have several tasks with budget values. How can I display the sum of the budget within the grouped view? Thank you. |

Since it's difficult to determine the exact field configuration from the image alone, I tried to replicate it as closely as possible. If the Budget in the master project is stored in a custom Cost1 field, wouldn't setting it to "Sum" as shown in the video work just fine? https://youtu.be/8SinUhFYYMg |

Hi, this is exactly what I am looking for. I was told in the Microsoft Q&A that this is not possible with a dynamic master, in which I included several subprojects. Here is the link to the discussion: How to see sum values for grouped view in MS project? - Microsoft Q&A What have you done differently? I appreciate. Thank you. |

I followed the same approach I’ve always used in the dynamic master project. At this point, I don’t have a reference to compare against, so I’m unable to explain what might have been done differently. If you could send me your sample dynamic master project along with the sub-projects via email, I’ll take a look and let you know what’s different. Please feel free to email me if you'd like to discuss the differences and how we can resolve them. ineejuatyahoodotcom |

I received your mail. Thank you. This tool development has to take place parallel to operational work. So currently I have only limited time. I will review your files and suggestions and come back to you. In Germany there is summer break time, so maybe beginning of September. All the best, Daniel |

Hi ineeju, I had a bit of time looking into your message provided via mail. To be clear, there is no possibility to do this without VBA and a macro? Point 3 in your overview cleary states this. I don't see this macro in your youtube video. You implemented that before, am I right? So basic question, but for me really important. I need to have a solution without VBA (company rules). And I do not quite understand, why this is not possible. Thank you, Daniel |

Hi ineeju, Thank you again for your help and support. I prefer answering here in the forum. Maybe someelse is interested into this topic. Now I have a bit more understanding why I need VBA for such requirement. Because this is not possible in my situation I need to have a workaround. I will figure this out within the next weeks and if I need any more support, I will contact you again. All the best, Daniel |
