![]() We use an operations master schedule for resource planning purposes. It covers operation tasks for our fiscal year. Some of the same resources that are part of the operations master schedule are also resources on specific projects. The master schedule is used to allocate time for those periods where personnel aren't working a specific project. In my operations schedule resources have hours allocated thru the remainder of the fiscal year. Each week as personnel submit timesheets and after they are approved the future hours that have been pre-assigned are readjusting based on the actuals they've reported on their timesheet. Is there a way to fix these hours so that future hours don't change? The tasks in the master schedule are typically fixed duration. I've experimented with changing a couple to fixed work but that doesn't seem to fix the problem. |

Project assumes your work estimates were correct. If a resource works fewer or more hours than they were scheduled, Project will assume the remaining work+actual work is equal to the original work.
Adjust remaining work as needed when doing the reporting. |
