Question Need to default the Cost Column based on another column's value

Hi everyone,
I am working with MS Project and have a custom text field populated with one of three values in that fiekl - Pre-Implementation, Implementation, or Post-Implementation. I need to automatically populate the cost column with either 1, 2, or 3, depending on teh selection in the custom text field. Is there a way to do this?

Alternatively, I could have the custom text field column automatically highlight the row or a value in the row, if the cost column is empty.

I don't know how to do either so any help would be appreciated!
