Default How to track resource activity (days, off % work penjding and completed, etc.)

Is there a way to track what my resources are doing (days off, % of work pending and completed, overall time spent on each task) without tying that into my overall project plan? My current project plan has date ranges for specific tasks within these phases: planning, implementation, rollout and resources are assigned to a general date range. The project plan needs to be general because we share it with other departments. But I also need to track my resource info separately.
