Default Spreading a project over two shifts

Hi there, I'm pretty new to MSProject and want to use it to implement a project plan for an activity which is happening over the next few weeks.

The activity is split into multiple tasks (let's say tasks 1-20)
The work is split between two shifts.

The issue I have is that shift 1 might be working on task 5, lasting 5 days (5x early shifts), and shift 2 might be working on task 10, also lasting 5 days (5x late shifts).

Shifts are 06:30>14:30>22:30.

Should I set up shift 1 & shift 2 as individual resources such that they can work on tasks "at the same time" (and let microsoft project assume that they are both working the same hours)?

many thanks
Guy
