Hi Tony,
I'm assuming you've changed the "start in" folder to start using the selected template? Are the custom fields in Global.mpt? If so they will automatically load. |

Hi Julie
Many thanks for your response. I have changed the "Start in" to point to the "new" Global template. However it is still picking up the custom fields from the "Standard Global Template". what I am trying to do is set up a template just to use for comparing two versions of the same plan. This is because we currently use some of the custom fields that the "Compare" function uses, so we dont get all the comparison results we need. So I created a new Global in the hope that I could remove any custom fields from that template and just use it for the compare function. Hope this clarifies what I am trying to do. Thanks Tony |

Hi Tony,
I think even though you created a new template, the Global.mpt file still loads in the background. Sorry - I don't know of any way to have Project not reference the Global.mpt file. As a suggestion - don't store the custom fields in Global. Create a new template for the creation of the file - store the fields in that template. Remove the custom fields from Global. I have had issues with errors being thrown while storing custom fields in Global when the supporting data isn't available. |
