Can you give me step-by-step instructions about how you are creating the new view?
I cannot re-create this a you are the first to have this trouble in my experience. Can you attach a sample file to this thread?

Steps to create a new view part 1
1 - A random task entered into the Entry table
2 - Print preview of the default Gantt Chart view 3 - Select More Views... menu to create a new view 4 - Select a Single View 5 - Simple view definition...
