Default Resources not showing 8 hrs per day

Hi,

I am using Project 2007. I set the calendar such that resources work 8 hrs a day. However, there are days when the resource shows only 2 hrs. These days are highlighted in red in the Resource Usage view.

The resources have Max Units as 100%.

Can someone pls tell me the reason for this?

Thanks,
Preeti.

If the task starts at the end of the day, the resource will only work 2 hours. What time does the task begin or end?

Thanks Julie.

I read one of your earlier replies and realized that Project considers units and not work, in the Resource Usage view.

So even though the resources are working on 2 tasks for a total of less than 8 hrs, they are shown as over allocated as they are utilizing 100% of their units for each task.

Regards,
Preeti.

Correct. Project says that if a resource is assigned to multiple tasks and the sum of the assignment units (Peak Units) is above the resource's maximum units - they are overallocated.
