Hi
is there any way that when you click onto the "next overallocation" button it can only do from today forwards? For example, I have a resource who was on annual leave 1st -14th August but had a task assigned to her 1st July 2013 - 1st October 2014. As I have her as unavailable 1st -14th August, she was over allocated for those two weeks. This means that when i click onto "next overallocation" it jumps me to the historic overallocation and not the next overallocatoin going forward from today. I know i can split the task and put the gap in for when she is on leave, but is there just a simple way for ignoring all previous over-allocations? |

A couple of choices:
Assuming you are using Project 2010, in the Gantt chart view, right click on the overallocation indicator, and select "ignore problems for this task". A better answer (in my opinion) is to make sure you have tracked the past tasks. Assuming the resource did not work during her vacation, enter zero for the actual hours during her vacation (Task Usage view) and the overallocation message should disappear for that task. (Assuming she is not still overallocated in the future). |
