Can I automatically save mpp files on a Project Server to 'shard docs' or elsewhere?
Hi,
I have multiple project schedules saved on our central project server. Is it possible to somehow automatically save these files to another location periodically? My reason for asking is that within project you can save baselines (& indeed you can save interim baselines as well); what I would like to be able to version controlled snapshots so I can see how things have progressed. Is this possible; & if so how can I do this? |

I'm not an expert in Project Server, but yes, to the best of my knowledge, you may save files locally. However, I don't think it can be automated through Project. I'd check to see if you can create some server side code. Try posting to the Microsoft forum for developers:

Hi,
Yes, I can save the file locally; it is the automation element I am interested in. Thanks for the advice, I have posted to the forum you suggested. Thanks. |
