Can't open PPT, Word will open

I used PPT on 12/07/18 with no problems. Now PPT files won't open for editing, but will open for show. Any suggestions? Thanks

Have you tried repairing the Office installation (via Windows Control Panel > Programs > Programs & Features > Microsoft Office (version) > Change > Repair)?

Not for over a year. I used the Win 10 function which will attempt to repair an app and it appears to have worked. thanks for your interest.
