Microsoft PowerPoint for Android - cant open file, something went wrong

I work in a school that use android tablets. Some students on their tablets have an error when trying to open specific powerpoints and it says 'cant open file. something went wrong.'

Students are using the same powerpoints but only some get this message. I originally worked out that it was happening when the powerpoint was created on a Mac but the issues seems to be spreading to powerpoints that were created on Windows devices.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Jordan
