Well, those pesky guides appear on all the slides from this particular layout, and opening View>Master slide still does not allow me to edit the guides.
I'm quite sure that I'm just not accessing the correct element. here's what I'm doing: 1. File > New 2. Select a particular custom template 3. Click Create The uneditable guides are there 4. View > Slide Master The uneditable guides are STILL there. What did you mean by the "large master at the top"?
