Hi,
I am at my wit's end about this. There are, I believe, three places in the diagram in Excel where I can right-click and select "Format axis" - everywhere I have set the number_format to "Currency" and explicitly selected the €-symbol. Still, in the ppt, the figures are formatted with the $-symbol.
