Problem with word art in Powerpoint but OK in publisher

I have been trying format Word art in PowerPoint 2013 but cannot do so. I have no such problem in Publisher 2013 and I can copy from publisher and paste to PowerPoint, all is then well.

I cannot get text to show in a shape when working in PowerPoint and I wish to work direct in PowerPoint if I can
