Default PowerPoint 2013 Add Music

Hi,

I am pretty much new to everything, computers, Internet and PowerPoint. I am putting together a video with 17 slides. The slides came out very good after a while of hit and miss.

I tried to add narration, and music. I don't remember which I did first. However the music was too loud and the narration to quiet. I tried to move the sliders on the sound icons up and down, but with no success. I had two different icons. I think at one time I had three???

I tried to make a recording in Audacity which came out great but too fast, and I didn't know how to change that to match the timings on the slides, or even if I could use it in PowerPoint.

I also have two video introductions 6 minutes total time that I would like to start the presentation, but they were recorded and saved in QuickTime, and someone told me I cannot use them with this program.

I know I am asking a lot, but I have been trying this on my own for a month, so any help will be appreciated.

Donald

Here is my suggestion being someone who has ran a recording studio. If you are using audacity what you need to do is make several audio files (Probably in OggVorbis Format) Each audio file should be for the each slide. This will allow you to set the timing exactly how you want it. Now there comes the issue with the music. This will need to either be a completely different file set up on your first slide with a setting to play through all slides or another trick you can do is use Audacity to fade it out for each audio file.

Now based off of your first post you may not know how to do all of these things. In order to find out because you are the one that gets to choose how you want to do this just google them. For example to make an audio file play for all slides you would google something like: PowerPoint 2007 play audio for all slides

This should give you a good starting point.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks

Default Changing to different format in audacity

Hello excelledsoftware

You are correct in the fact that I don't know these things, but I going to work on your suggestions. I have saved my first audio clip in audacity to the Ogg Vorbis Format Excuse the spelling if wrong. I will do the 17 slides.

I am not sure how to then do the timings in the Audacity audio?? I have the timings for the slides. I have been using Google all the time, but mostly looking to forum as I do not understand a lot from Google.

The music audio file on my hard drive is about three minutes. I have to add that to my first slide and choose play through all slides.

I will be working on this tonight and tomorrow, and will let you all know my progress.

Thanks,

Don

Been awhile since I used Audacity. I actually use Kristal for all of my audio editing. http://kristal-audio-engine.en.softonic.com/
I am sure there is a way to set a track marker in Audacity or it might be a start and stop point. I also think there is a way to export your selection. Again I always use kristal because it is so easy to do just that by taking your track cutting where you want the start and stop and then clicking on that piece and hitting p. That will set the markers for just that piece.
I know it's possible in Audacity maybe try to find a youtube video on it.

Default Slides and music powwerpoint 2013

I am back. I now have 17 slides and music playing throughout the slide presentation.

Here is where I get fouled up. I am trying everything suggested.

How can I now add narration. I am trying to add narration in Audacity as instructed, but it is not working.

Is there a way in PowerPoint 2013 to add narration to the slide presentation that already has music in all the slides. When I have tried this (Several times) the music got louder and drowned out the narration.

Also if I can do this, then how do I remove the music and narration icons from the presentation before I save.

Thanks for all the help.

Don
