if you have worked on the file for a while there may be previous versions. Might be worth right clicking the file and 'Restore Previous Versions". It will tell you if there aren't any.
It's not easy to kill all of the notes are you sure the text has not been set to white (They would still show in the pane below the slide but maybe not print.)
