Default Essentially the same animation works in one presentation but not in another

I have a peculiar problem in that I can't set up an animation which I was able to set up previously. The scenario is simple: you click on a transparent rectangle (no line, no fill) and a picture/shape moves into the slide and out again after a delay.

I have attached two files: navigation and navigationb. I navigationb the animation works and in navigation it doesn't work. I haven't figure out why.
Attached Files
File Type: pptx navigation.pptx (48.8 KB, 10 views)
File Type: pptx nevigationb.pptx (114.4 KB, 9 views)

I still don't understand the discrepancy between the two presentations but in any case, I've found that giving a transparent fill (as opposed to no fill) to the rectangle I use for the trigger allows my animation in the way intended (the examples above both have no fill though).

As you've discovered transparent fill is much more reliable than no fill. The no fill will often fire ONLY if the mouse is over the "line"
