Default Object alignment, set dominant

When aligning two or more objects, is it possible to select(set) a dominant object? i.e. a object may already be in the correct position and it is necessary to have others align with it regardless of size.

In some instances the alignment which results is a combination of the two positions needing further correction to get the objects back to the correct position.
