Hi
I've customised my tool bar to include icons for macros Works fine for my 'Test' doc, however when I save this docment as something else the macros don't work and I get an error message: "macro cannot be found or has been disabled because of your security settings" Any ideas of what I can do to resolve this, as really people will start off with my blank document (which is effectively a template) and then save it as something else before using... Cheers Andy |

There's no reliable way to do this without writing an AddIn Andy.

Thanks John...
Are add-ins easy to do? If not, do you have a suggesion for me? it seems to work ok if macros are stored in a separate PowerPoint doc eg called 'macro' if this is open when the other doc (which can be called anything) is also open... Also, are you able to help me with another query (amending the code you've already given me slightly)...the query is posted as " URGENT VBA needed for placing image on page”? Very nearly there, thanks for your help Cheers Andy |

There is of course a learning curve. see here for help.
We have a freebie AddIn kit on the same page which makes it easier. |

Hi John, thanks for this
I've downloaded the addin and followed the instructions.. I've also copied all of the modules and code into my PowerPoint 2010 Macro enabled template which has been formatted with our company logo and in correct font etc But I can't see useful macros tab? Are you able to advise what I need to do to apply these macros to a preset template? Cheers Andy |

Thanks John...have sussed it...cheers
Is it possible to add icons to the ribbon, rather than have them listed under a 'my macros' tab? |

It is certainly possible but you would need to learn a lot more about XML. Google ribbonX or buy the book

Hi
The Free AddIn just comes "As Is" Obviously we can do what you need (or make ribbon buttons) but it wouldn't be free. I get 100% of my income from coding and while I'm very happy to help others I have to live! |
