Hello
I am trying to understand logic which is applied to placeholders and how this logic is connected with the ISO_IEC_29500-1_2011 standard. It seems that, visible state of placeholders like header, footer, slide number and date have to be configured by “hf” property (19.3.1.25 hf (Header/Footer information for a slide master)) – but, I can not even find this tag in a pptx document. I have checked master slide (\ppt\slideMasters\slideMaster1.xml), layout slide (ppt\slideLayouts\slideLayout1.xml) and simple slide (\ppt\slides\slide1.xml) – but nothing(( My mind is exploding – please, can you describe how behavior of a placeholders (will be the placeholder shown on a slide or not) is defined by the 29500-1 standard??? For example: I going to add a slide based on a layout, I now, that there is no any “hf” tags in the master slide or layout, also I know that the layout has header, footer, page number and some custom placeholders. Which placeholders will be present on a just created slide??? Probably, there is better place for this question – any suggestion or references will be appreciated. Many thanks in advance. |

What if my chief says: “I want the same behavior” – should I follow to the actual Powerpoint behavior or this behavior will be changed soon in accordance to the standard 29500? |

Don't know if it's a bug / feature but when you insert a new slide the normal default is NOT to show number / footer / date placeholders even if they are on the Master / layout.
