I'm using PowerPoint 2010 with a ten-slide show and I have imbedded (in slide one) an mp3 music file of fixed playing time length (the file is 1 minute 5 seconds)...playing across all slides, it only lasts until half-way through slide five. I've tried 'Loop Until Stopped', and 'Rewind After Playing' to no avail. Can someone please tell me how to smoothly transition this background music half-way through slide five to continue playing until the end of the show (the end of slide ten)? I look forward to your kind reply.

The best solution IMO is to edit the music in an audio editor. Just cut and paste to double (or more) the length.
Audacity is free and will do a good job. Anything you do in PowerPoint is likely to NOT give a smooth transition, in Audacity you can fade in and out. NOTE if you are working on mp3 you will also need the LAME encoder (same page) |

Hi John (by the way, my name's John Wilson too!!)...see voysmith.com
I'll check out audacity...I assume the Lame encoder is referred to on their site as well. Thanks so much for your kind and informative reply. I've been wrestling for hours trying to smooth over my audio transitions with PP2010. Kind regards, John |

Audacity is good. We have a pro recording suite but I often pop stuff into Audacity if it's a simple edit.
