Presentation distorts on different screens

Hi All

I designed a pptx (Powerpoint 2010) with a page layout suited for widescreens, that is a 16:9 aspect ratio. Now I designed my presentation on a laptop(1366x768 display), but when I view in on other screens the whole document is distorted, pictures and text overlap etc.
What am I doing wrong?
