I have both Office 2007 and 2010 installed on my Windows 7 Dell i5 Laptop.
For various reasons I need to have both versions installed and working properly. Office 2007 PowerPoint does not properly display text animations - they are jerky at best and at worst, they hang up. I have tried to run the Diagnostics to do a repair on the office suite, but I keep getting a message that I do not have sufficient permissions, even though I am running the Administrator account on the computer (in fact, this is the only user account on the computer). For the same reason the system will not allow me to uninstall or repair from the Control Panel. I have tried reinstalling from the original disks, but because a newer version is on the computer I can't reinstall. Can anyone offer solutions to either getting the Diagnostics to run...or another way to get PowerPoint 2007 performing properly. |

Are the text animations "By Letter" 2007 can be very jerky with these.
You might want to look at your User account Settings though it shouldn't behave as you say easiest way Type UAC into Windows Help > Open User Account Settings. |

Thank you for your reply.
I probably should have been a bit more precise in my original post. The inability to uninstall or modify programs is limited to Office. The system recognizes my account as the unrestricted Administrator account, and I can perform these functions on all other programs...MS Office being the exception. However...I am certainly willing to dig a bit deeper...can you suggest which of the Account settings I might want to change? Stephen |

I can't see it doing what you say but ..
Find UAC settings and slide the slider down to the bottom Windows > Help & Support Search for UAC Turn UAC On or Off >> Click to open settings I'm sure you know that having two versions of Office is not always a good idea though it does usually work (and I have the same set up)! I take it you only have one version of Outlook/? |

John,
Thank you for your reply. I am animating the text line by line (paragraph level). I have only one version of Outlook installed. Stephen |
