I probably should have been a bit more precise in my original post.

The inability to uninstall or modify programs is limited to Office. The system recognizes my account as the unrestricted Administrator account, and I can perform these functions on all other programs...MS Office being the exception.

However...I am certainly willing to dig a bit deeper...can you suggest which of the Account settings I might want to change?
