Default AVI's in Powerpoint

Hi.

I have created a slide show containing a mixture of slides, with and without AVI clips. The slides with AVI clips are animated so that the AVI runs as soon as the previous slide is advanced. At the end of the AVI the presentation remains on that slide displaying the finishing position of the AVI. The next slide starts on a mouse click, allowing the presenter to control the timing.

Sometimes the next slide comes in "cleanly". However, more often than not, when the AVI slide is clicked to advance the AVI briefly (a split second) returns to it's starting position before the slide advances to the next one.

This is becoming a little irritating and definitely detracts from the professional finish of the presentation.

Is this a known "issue"? Has anyone any ideas how to solve this?

Thanks in advance.

Terry
