I'm trying to move over a .PST file that exceeds 10GB (Yes you read that right)... to a different computer.

I know you should NEVER let your PST go over 2GB but I personally wasn't here at that time to stop this.

I have Archived the file, the archive PST is now nearing 2GB itself. I have deleted thousands of old emails that are no longer needed and have attempted to compact the PST file.

The PST was compacting overnight, but when I've come to look at it this morning it's still the same size. When clicking compact again it runs for a few seconds and says done. When I click OK it says outlook cannot save changes.

I could do with a way of recovering ALL (I know this ones unlikely) or failing that at least the most recent data.

I'm open to trying just about anything as i don't want to lose all of it

I would suggest making a copy of the .PST file and running the scanpst tool on it to ensure there is not a corruption of the file.
