Hi,
So my problem goes like this: I have 2+ computers who are connected to a share drive true lan. My goal is to share my archivum with the other computer / outlook. It would be also very handy if they where in constant sync. I red that this is not possible with the standart .pst file. I also do not have any acces to create a new .imap email adress. I looked a lot around and found out that there are third party software who can actually acomplish this however i do not have the option to install anything on these computers. So does anyone knows a software which is just download and paste it somewhere in the outlook map? I really do not know where to start and help would be greatle apriciated ![]() Thank you in advance, Robert |

w1ckd,
Is this archivum a local ,pst file on one computer? If this is the case, what happens when you open the other Otlook program and do File > Open Data file? Are you able to browse to the location of this .PST? Can you copy the .PST and transfer the copy to the secondary drive? Keep me posted? |

Thank you your reaction!
![]() It Should be on a share drive, So that 2 people could use it at the same time. I can browse to that location but when opening it gives me a read error, So only one person can use it at a time. I can copy it everyday manually but the best way would be keeping it synced since the copying would be time consuming. |

W1ckd,
An archived PST is not synchronized with your exchange server as it is local. As you already are aware the archive cannot be opened by two clients at the same time. This is intended by Microsoft and could cause permanent damage to the file and your Outlook program. A good work around would be to copy the archive and rename it. This way you can open the copy in the other program. Note: if you archive you mail to one .PST file and this in theory is a back up leaving a copy still synchronized on the server, it is possible to archive it to the copy as well. Hope this helps. |
