For the past few days something has been causing numerous (sometimes a couple per second) Outlook windows to open. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Office a couple times but have not been able to make it stop.
I'm using Office 2010 on Windows 7. I have been debating not using Outlook anyway because my antivirus software periodically clobbers my .pst file causing me to lose my emails, contact, calendar, etc. Is there any way to install Office without Outlook? Or does anyone have a suggestion about how I might track down what is causing the problem? |

What kind of windows are opening? Are they the regular Outlook Inbox window, a New Message window, or a specific email in a new window? Do they start opening as soon as you boot to Windows, or does email have to be manually opened first before it starts?
You can easily elect to not install Outlook with the rest of the Office suite. You just need to do a custom installation and unselect the Outlook products. -SW |
