We currently use Outlook 2000 professional and are about to upgarde to Office 2010 professional.
When trying to open the archive.pst file (Outlook2000) we get a message saying that errors have been found and cannot open it. Does anyone have any idea how/if this can be overcome and the information extracted? Thanks |

Thanks for the assistance. Have run Scanpst, but still have errors. Scanpst couldn't recover data, so I assume that it is totally unrecoverable.

There are also 3rd party apllications that can perform a .pst repair.
This one will allow you to see if it is recoverable before paying for it. http://www.pstfilerepair.com/ |

Thanks for that, it has worked perfectly. All data fully recovered and a very reasonable price for the software.

It seems the cause of corruption of pst. If you are not able to access or open pst file or folder, it means file has been corrupted and you need to repair it. To repair corrupted pst file you can take help to free tool available on Internet and also take help from paid tools.

Its also good practise to archive regularly to keep PST files within the 2-5 gig range. Also if you remove items from the PST, don't forget to compress it every now and again.
