Default Outlook 2007 hangs on send and recieve
when i try to send and recieve it hangs up. it shows 5 seconds remaining forever. you can exit out of Outlook to quit but it still hangs every time.

What version of Exchange? How are you connected to the Exchange server? (LAN? WAN? VPN?) Does this happen even if you start Outlook in Safe Mode?
