Sorry if this has been discussed else where but I looked and couldn't find a situation that was similar.
I'm having a problem with a client pc running wp pro and office 2003 that connects to a windows small business server 2003. SBS is running Exchange. The company's bookkeeper was having problems with file synchronization. After we got that problem worked out she could no longer access her email using outlook. When outlook is started an error message pops up saying. "Outlook cannot find /serverone/storage/user storage/jane doe/Outlook Data/jane doe.pst" When I use windows explorer on the client computer to navigate to /serverone/storage/user storage/jane doe/Outlook Data/ the folder is empty. However when I go to the actual sbs2003 server and navigate to that directory the folder is actually there. Can I simply recreate the email account with the same user name and password so she can access her mail? Or Should I try to repair the *.pst file on the server? |

If you are not able to see the contents of the folder from her computer, but can see them on the server, the problem is most likely due to file/folder permissions. I would first check to be sure that she had the proper read/write permissions for both the folder and its contents.
If you logged in to her computer as an administrator and browsed over to the shared folder, is the pst file viewable then? -SW |
