![]() I have a Yahoo/Bellsouth.net email account that forwards email to Outlook 2013 on my computer. I recently started having Yahoo/Bellsouth.net spam forwarded to Outlook, even though when I check online, the spam email is in the spam folder. How can I stop this from happening? I want spam kept in my Yahoo/Bellsouth.net spam folder online and not forwarded to Outlook on my computer (the way all other email providers like Gmail do it). Thanks. |

If you use IMAP to connect your Outlook to your Yahoo email server, you should be able to "Unsubscribe" the Yahoo Spam folder in Outlook to stop it from syncing.

I missed that you said "forwards email to Outlook 2013". What I described will (obviously) not stop forwarded emails.
Unless there is some way to filter what gets forwarded (on the Yahoo side) I don't know how you would stop the SPAM from forwarding. The only other thing I can think of is a Rule in your Outlook that looks in the Message Header and (somehow?) determines that it came from the Yahoo SPAM folder, and then Delete it in Outlook. See "Filtering Based on Customized Headers" in https://its.uiowa.edu/services/micro...m-heading-1511 |

By forwarded, all I mean is that whatever emails are sent to my Yahoo account online are then moved to my computer via Outlook 2013. It is presently Pop3, not IMAP. But I don't think that should make any difference, since I have other Yahoo/Bellsouth.net accounts that are Pop3 and are connected to Outlook 2013 and they don't move any of the spam emails from the online Yahoo server to Outlook 2013 on my computer. |

OK. So you are just doing a normal POP3 sync. >> other Yahoo/Bellsouth.net accounts ... don't move any of the spam emails Redirecting |

And did you follow the steps in the Answers article? Did that fix your problem? (I can't test since I don't have Yahoo mail).
Redirecting Sign in to Yahoo Mail. Mouse over the Settings menu icon. Select Settings. Click Accounts. Click on your Yahoo account. Under "Access your Yahoo Mail elsewhere," select POP. Pick how you want to handle spam emails: Don't download spam email - No spam is sent to the mail client. Download spam with no special indicators - Spam is sent to the mail client as-is. Download spam, but prefix the word "Spam" - Spam is sent to the mail client and says "Spam" in the subject. Click Save. |

When I select "Settings", the word "Accounts" is not there. I see a menu with these things: Appearances Mailboxes Notifications Writing email Viewing email Vacation response Filters Security and privacy Contacts |

Dude
I just created a new Yahoo email account to test. And I can not find the POP settings references in the Answers article either. Either we're looking in the wrong place, or Yahoo has moved the Goal Post. Sorry I sent you down that rabbit hole. I'm stumped. |
