![]() I have a few email accounts set up in Outlook 2010. All the inboxes keep incoming mail forever whether or not its read. One inbox though deletes all emails after a certain time. I would like to turn off the automatic deleting. Any help? |

Since your using Outlook 2010, please follow the steps beloow to resolve your issue;
Hot To: remove the delete messages after a certain period option; 1. Open your Outlook client and go to File. 2. Highlight Info and select Account Settings. 3. Once the account settings window opens, locate the account you wish to edit, then select Change. 4. Select More Settings. The the Advanced Tab. 5. I have the same problem - emails disappear from one of my email accounts. Tried the solution posted in previous post. All good until the last step - my outlook didn't give me the option to change delivery. Any other suggestions. This is getting beyond annoying and into the problematic space. Emails are now being deleted daily.
Thanks in advance |

abcvic,
To aid you in your issue, provide more details. Shows you use outlook 2010..the account(s) you have are they IMAP or POP3 account configurations? The above steps are for POP3 configurations and IMAP does not have the same feature. Whom is your provider? If its Hotmail, yahoo, Google, they may have these options on their standard interface. Keep posting, |

Abcvic, when using IMAP and deleting messages they also delete from the server. Could it be you are deleting messages from webmail and they are dissapearing from outlook too? Use the steps in this article to see if you can recover the deleted emails if they still exist on the server.

Thanks. These are messages that 'should' still be sitting in my Inbox - ie read but not deleted. Currently, these are cleared daily so by about 11pm tonight, I can expect all the emails I received today to 'disappear.' I have tried changing settings but don't have the dialog box (Delivery) suggestion in one of the prior threads. Checked my archive settings - currently on do not archive so I am very lost. My other email account (also imap and with gmail) is fine. It can't be magic so there must be a solution - I just have no clue what that could be.

I called my provider and told me my setup was incorrect. I had used IMAP instead of POP3. had to delete myself then recreate. Hope this helps!

Thanks - that seems to have fixed it. The default automatically goes to IMAP so you need to select the manually change settings box.
Thanks Linda |

My emails are deleting from my PC after about 10 weeks. I've now changed the settings so emails save on the server, but I've lost a few important items that had downloaded. Is there anyway to stop this?

I have the same problem. Office 19, Windows 10 Home, 20H2, build 19042.985. This just started happening recently with an update. My email account is ATT Yahoo in IMAP format. And I do not have the "Change" option. Help Wanted. I am tired of having to move my email back to the Inbox from the Trash folder every day.
