Installed MS Office Professional 2010 trial and used it until the trial period ended. Removed Office 2010 trial. This seemed to also removed Outlook 2007 from my computer, though all the other applications in MS Office 2007 suite are still available and working.
How can I recover Outlook 2007? |

Can you maybe go back to a restore date on your computer?

I did a Change to my Office 2007 install through the Control Panel and saw that Outlook 2007 had been turned off. I reset it to run from my computer and it reinstalled itself. The only problem after that was the profile had been changed by Outlook 2010 and caused some problems in Outlook 2007. I had to create a new profile but I was able to recover all of my emails and used the opportunity to clean up my email handling some.

Just for future reference in case anyone pulls this up in a search:
Outlook is the only Office application where multiple versions cannot exist side-by-side on the same computer. You can have copies of other Office applications, such as XP, 2003, 2007, and 2010 versions of Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc, all on the same computer. However if you try to install Outlook 2010 on a computer that has 2003 or 2007, it will uninstall the earlier version of Outlook prior to installing the new version. If you uninstall Outlook 2010, you'll need to reinstall the old version of Outlook. And, as experienced by David, there may be issues accessing the existing Outlook profile. -SW |
