Login your Google account and to go to Sign in - Google Accounts to check if you have turned ON Less secure app access.

Isteo,

I did indeed turn on "less secure app access" but i did so after i received the error. so that was likely the issue. however, i am back running office 2007 and I am again getting an error about not being able to connect. but i will post the issue details in a new thread.
