Problem started on July 25, 2018. After that point, emails destined for my xxx@aol.com account were indeed showing up on my iPhone, and I verified they were on the AOL mail server (by going to AOL webmail through Safari browser), but they STOPPED coming into my (Outlook 2011/Yosemite setup) on my desktop. I can send OK out of that, but Outlook does not see the Inbox on the server. I verified the account settings in a number of locations and they are the ONLY ones I see.
So, this morning from another location, and using my laptop (Outlook 2016/High Sierra) when I first booted up and started Outlook, all the mail came in, and was visible in the Inbox. However, since then—early this morning, no new mail has come in to the laptop. It still comes in to the phone, and of course is still on the AOL mail server. Something happened somewhere. So it is this: mail to my AOL address IS getting to the server. My iPhone is getting the mail in real time. Both my laptop (Outlook 2016/High Sierra) and my desktop (Outlook 2011/Yosemite) do not see the AOL inbox. Outbound mail is working fine. Any ideas? Note, when I say "see the server" I mean Outlook on the local desktop or laptop is not "syncing" with the Inbox on the AOL mail server. Settings for AOL are thus, and have been since I set this up about 3 years ago: incoming mail is at imap.aol.com on port 993 using SSL. Outbound is smtp.aol.com on port 587 using SSL. Nothing changed on either computer, and all other mailboxes are working fine--gmail, yahoo, outlook 365, etc. |
