Outlook suddenly refused to allow me to download email. I can send email, and I can download headers, but if I try to read messages from my email server through Outlook, it will simply ignore messages in my server's inbox, although I can see them sitting there when I go into the server through webmail. Message headers will download if I invoke the 'download header feature,' but many times the body of the message will not download. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

All suggested possibilities regarding settings that might preclude downloading have been examined. I cannot locate anything more that would inhibit downloading of messages.

Maybe try a new Outlook profile and fill in everything needed for it to connect to your email server. If that works you know it's a setting in the other profile or you simply keep using the new profile.
