Default Search / Autofill Contacts

Hello,

I just switched back to Outlook (2016) after using Thunderbird for a while. The software we use for business allows us to export contacts, and embeds the name in a lengthy description in the vCard. So, for example, it may say:

Dropbox xxxx - Fleming, John

On Thunderbird, I could type "fleming" in the TO filed of an email, and it would search contacts as though I was using a wildcard, and pull up anything that began with "fleming," or included "fleming" in the center of the name. The autofill function in outlook seems to utilize only the leading characters of a name. I have so many contacts that it becomes unwieldy to look through them all. Is there a setting or workaround for this? I have spent time researching it myself with no success.

Thanks.
