I'm sure that my title doesn't make any sense so here's the explanation. I have Windows 7 with Outlook 2010.
In the left hand pane I have my email folders listed. My primary email address is listed first. It's folder stays open all the time and the subfolders are listed under it with the Inbox folder showing the number of new emails. Below the primary email address is my second email address with it's subfolders (including Inbox, etc) followed by Outlook Data File with its subfolders (including Inbox). When I open my email the main email address folder opens up and the Outlook Data File opens up but the second email address folder doesn't open up so, unless I click on the triangle to the left of the name, I can't see whether I have new emails in that email account. If I leave the folder open when I close Outlook, the folder is closed again when I open Outlook. Not so with the Outlook Data File. That stays open if I leave it open and stays closed if I leave it closed. How do I get the second email folder to stay open? And what happens if I was to delete the Outlook Data File as nothing appears to ever go into it? |
