Hi,
My OS is win10, office is 2016 pro-plus. I can not configure pop3 or imap in outlook. There are many blogs on line and I've exhausted many w/o success (all but the correct one, no doubt). This problem occurred after using office 2007 for more than a year win win10. For reasons not known I was no longer able to send/receive mail. After a week of failure I bought and installed office 2016. Using outlook 2016 I seem to be in the same place. I can not send/receive mail with gmail. I've tried many port and security combo's for both pop3 and imap as described on line but none are working. The initial 2007 set-up was automated (I did not try to configure it, it just worked with the default). That no longer works for either 2007 or 2016, nor has any of the configurations tried for pop3/imap setup. What do I need to enter to configure outlook 2016 with either imap or pop3 gmail account on win10 OS. Thanks, Keith |

Hi,
OK, it's resolved. I logged onto gmail and made my account less secure. Hmm, I'm sure this was all that was needed for office 2007, not sure how or when this was altered but allowing less secure connection was all that that I needed to do. Yes outlook 2016 is a little slower than 2007 but a far better interface so far. Thanks, Keith |
