The issues I would be running into are:

I pretty much always have Outlook open and running, 24/7 as they say,
I have enough sub-folders to take up two screen heights, and
I am working with two exchange accounts.

I am now wondering if there might be a vba solution, for obviously if there was a simple setting then someone with your knowledge would have mentioned it also right away-
