Often when sending an email (click on SEND) nothing happens for a very long time and usually in the top of screen there is a display "Outlook is not responding". Mostly if I wait long enough (can be more than one minute even for a very short email) the message disappears and the email is sent.
Sometimes after waiting much more than a minute I give up and close down Outlook. I am connected to my isp via ADSL2+ and use SMTP. Could it be caused by the connection type, the isp server or something else? |

Thanks for your reply.
No I haven't exceeded my quota. Not sure if the other two suggestions are relevant (tell me if I'm wrong) as the 'problem' doesn't happen all the time. The last few emails sent (after posting my question) have worked perfectly (and quickly). The 'problem' only happens every now and then but is still very annoying. Could it be because I am using SMTP? Is POP3 preferable? Could it be a problem with ADSL2+ and/or my actual isp and/or it's server? If I set up to use POP3 instead can I still retain emails downloaded on my isp's server and not automatically deleted until some time in the future? |
