Hi there
We have five loan laptops at work and are looking for the best way to keep tabs on them being booked in and out of our department. We think creating a dedicated calendar in Outlook is probably a good option as it means we're using an existing application to store the information in. Ideally when we go to the calendar, we want to see the laptops listed at the top of of it, somehing like this: Loan laptop 1 - SERIAL TAG - Status: In Store Loan laptop 2 - SERIAL TAG - Status: In Use User: James Brown Loan laptop 3 - SERIAL TAG - Status: In Store Loan laptop 4 - SERIAL TAG - Status: In Use User: Mary Lamb Loan laptop 5 - SERIAL TAG - Status: In Use User: Mike Phillips The issue we're having is doing this in a simple way. For example, if you setup a continuous entry for Loan Laptop 1 as In Store and then modify the calendar entry to book the laptop out to a user, as its a continuous entry, it will look like the laptop has forever been booked out to that one user. Other than manually put in separate entries for items as In Store and then In Use we can't see a way round this problem. I've looked on the web for software that other people might use for laptop bookings but haven't found anything suitable. Any advice on the best way to handle our laptop bookings would be appreciated. |
