I'm using Outlook 2007 running on 64-bit Vista (SP2). I'm NOW also using IE8, but the identical problem occurred running on IE7 as well. All that said, following is the error that I get EACH AND EVERY TIME I access the website indicated:
Internet Explorer Script Error An error has occurred in the script on this page Line: 8 Char: 1 Error: Object expected Code: 0 URL: https://myaccount.rootsweb.com/ Do you want to continue running scripts on this page? YES NO I tend to use the "Web toolbar" a lot, and often access the WWW from within Outlook 2007. However, when I use the above URL (including and link within it) I get this error 100% of the time, but NO OTHER site does this. What seems odd, is that at no time have I noticed anything not functioning properly, including all links, so the error seems to be a "false alarm." Additionally, the problem does not occur at all if I access the very same site directly through IE7 or IE8, so it ONLY OCCURS WHEN USING THE WEB TOOLBAR IN OUTLOOK. It began happening approximately a month or so ago though, and the error notice is getting very annoying on a site that I use as much as this one. I have contacted RootsWeb's tech support about it, deny any responsibility for it and say the problem lies with Outlook. I hope I am explaining it correctly, but if anyone out there can help me resolve this very annoying error issue I would be most grateful. |

If it works well, you can simply ignore the errors, just disable script debugging in your browser's options; if it doesn't work, it's very probably an error on the server side.

So far as I have been able to determine, all is working properly except for the fact these annoying error dialogues keep coming up. You suggest I disable script debugging, but you do not say how to do it. How do I do it in Vista and/or IE8?

Select the menu Tools -> Internet Options, go to the Advanced tab, you can find the script debugging options.

If you mean the following:
Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer) and Disable script debugging (Other) . . . both are checked, so presumable already disabled. If you're referring to something else then I need to know what to look for. |

Yes, that's what I meant. Also un-check 'Disply a notification about every script error'.
If the errors still popup, you may want to try other browsers such FireFox or Chrome. |

Matrix, as I just stated, the two settings you mentioned ALREADY ARE set that way, as well as the third one, but the problem still exists. . . . .ONLY when using the Outlook 2007 Web toolbar, not directly using IE 7 or 8 as I stated in the beginning. I do not want another browser, I just want the one I have to work right, but I THOUGHT you were going to help me fix the problem. :-(

Can anyone out there suggest another forum or someplace I can go to get this annoying problem resolved? I appreciate the attempts to help me, but the suggestion to change browsers is not much of a solution. :-(

Sorry, I can't help you further. You can try Microsoft official support forum, you can find it on their website.
