Please help me. I don't know what else to do. Well here is the story:
I have an old computer which has outlook 2003 installed on it. Suddenly yesterday i received a warning message saying that, I am about to exceed the limit of my mailbox. I couldn't believe at first, as i always thought that outlook is limited with my harddisk capacity. Well, the other day, when i clicked send/receive, i saw that mails are downloading but none of them are appearing on my mailbox. Then i started reading many articles about the case, and i figured out that the limit of my box is 2gb which i reached already. I needed to keep all my emails, and i didn't want to delete or archive them. And i decided to install outlook 2007 because of 20Gb default limit. I upgraded my computer to service pack 2 first (office 2007 requires at least XP service pack 2 which i learned also at that time), and backed up my outlook PSTs. When i put the office 2007, it only give me the option to upgrade. I upgraded office, however when i opened outlook it was still giving me the max size error and was not accepting any emails even though it was downloading them from the server. Well, following that i went to regedit to change email size manually. i did add new DWORD values under HKEY_CYRRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Micrososft\12. 0\PST , but they didn't change anything. Then i decided to uninstall everything and install a fresh copy of office. i did and when i am done with new installation and open my outlook i realized that my emails are still there even though i haven't imported them back yet. And of course i am still experiencing the problem of max file size thing. Please help; i can receive any emails because of this problem. Here is the exact message that i am still receiving: "the file C:\Documents and Settings\...\Outlook.pst has reached its maximum size. To reduce the amount of the data in this file, select some items that you no longer need, and then permanently delete them by pressing SHIFT+DELETE. You could also consider using the new Outlook Personal Files (.pst) introduced with Outlook 2003 that provides greater capacity for storing items and folders" Well, don't you think it is weird to get this message on Outlook 2007? Please help me; i really need to solve this issue... |
