Can't see all my old messages on an old .pst file when I add it

Hello. I have a .pst file that I want to add as a data file so I can look back at an email from 2002, and I can't. The file only shows the last year. It's a 300MB file, and the other default file (which only shows about a year) is a matter of Kilobytes, so I know the .pst file contains more emails. Is there a way that I can go back to view my old messages?
