Default email being redirected to a user not on list of users to be sent to

I have an issue with emails not being received by intended recipient BUT only a few…myself and and there is a few others on a list that are sending emails to a specific user but they are ending up in another user's inbox (this user is not on the list of recipients to be sent to. If I reply to an email from this user it goes directly to this user. When I try to send a new email to this user, I have a hard time finding them in the drop-down list and need to go to the global address list to find them.
