I am using Outlook 2003 on a PC running Windows XP and it is behaving very strangely. I have four accounts. When I open Outlook in Account A, for example, and press Send/Receive, a message appears in the right hand side of the task bar stating "Send/Receive Status 50%" but it makes no attempt to upload any messages in the Outbox nor download any messages from the server. The same thing happens no matter which account I use.
However, if I leave it switched on showing "Send/Receive Status 50%", it may start to upload and download spontaneously after about an hour or more. On other occasions, when I go into Outlook, it uploads and downloads emails as good as gold. I have tried doing a complete scan with Panda virus protection and I have also defragged the C drive but it makes no difference. My Outlook has a mind of its own. Outlook Express seems to work OK on the same machine. Anybody got any bright ideas please? -- Alasdair. |
