I have Outlook 2010, Win 7 64 bit, Toshiba laptop bought new in Oct 2011, 8 gig RAM. I have been sending and receiving e-mail without a problem until 2 days ago. I updated my Outlook calendar and added a lot of older data (events in the past). Suddenly I cannot send e-mail .. I get a message that Outlook "times out" trying to contact SMTP. I lengthened the time before "time out". After a long telephone session, my ISP provider says this is a "MS" problem. I downloaded Thunderbird and then imported data/settings from Outlook and it sends e-mail perfectly ... so I assume the problem is not the ISP. Any advice? Should I delete all the old data in the Calendar (how do you delete data from the calendar?)
